ABOUT EXPERUS

A Belgian software company built around senior engineering

No account managers, no hand-off to a junior, no hand-off after the sale. When you work with Experus you work directly with the engineers who design, build and run your software.

THE STORY

Why Experus exists

Experus BV is a Belgian software company, founded in 2020. It exists to give organisations something that is surprisingly hard to find: direct access to senior engineers, with no agency layers between you and the people doing the work.

Too often the person who sold the project was not the person who built it, the person who built it was not the person who ran it, and each hand-off lost context you had already paid for. Experus removes those hand-offs: the engineers who understand your business also shape the design, write the code and answer the call after go-live.

Clients range from SMEs replacing spreadsheets and manual processes to enterprise teams that need a dependable partner for a critical system. Experus works from Belgium for clients across Europe, and further afield when the work fits. Whatever the size, the rules are the same: you get a written scope before any code, working software in short increments, and the people who built it still answering after go-live. Everything delivered is yours to keep, in your repositories and your accounts.

WHAT YOU CAN COUNT ON

Four commitments on every engagement

Technical depth

Specialised in the JVM, Spring and PostgreSQL rather than spread across every stack. Depth is what lets Experus give you a straight answer quickly.

Straight answers

Estimates with their assumptions attached, risks named early, and a clear no when something is a bad idea, when a simpler option exists, or when a deadline is not realistic. A difficult conversation early beats a surprise late.

End-to-end ownership

Design, build, deployment and operations under one roof, so nothing falls into the gap between 'delivered' and 'running'.

Built for whoever comes next

Readable code, automated tests, documented infrastructure, all in your name. What Experus delivers can be maintained by you, by Experus, or by the engineer who inherits it. Long relationships are earned, not locked in.

HOW EXPERUS WORKS

From first conversation to running software

01

Understand

The first conversations are about your business, not your tech stack: what has to be true for this to succeed, which constraints are real, and what can safely wait. You receive a written scope before any code is written.

02

Shape

A written design before the build: domain boundaries, data model, deployment shape and the known risks, with an estimate that states its assumptions. You get to argue with the drawing before it becomes expensive.

03

Build

Working software in short increments, tests run on every commit, and a standing update rhythm. You see progress in your own environment, not in a slide deck, and you always know what it will cost.

04

Run and evolve

Production is the definition of done: monitoring, backups and rollback are part of every delivery. After go-live Experus stays, for support, security updates and the next iteration, under an agreement that fits how you prefer to work.

TECHNOLOGY

Chosen for longevity

Experus does not chase frameworks. It goes deep on a small set of proven tools your next engineer can also maintain, and everything built with them is yours: code in your repositories, infrastructure in your accounts, documentation in plain language. You are never locked in to Experus to maintain what Experus built. If your problem genuinely needs a different tool, you will hear that early, together with a recommendation on what fits better.

Kotlin & Java

Java on a current long-term-support release, Kotlin on a current stable release, idiomatic either way.

Spring Boot

Web, data, security and integration on the framework enterprise teams already trust.

PostgreSQL

One relational database, designed carefully around real queries, with migrations under version control. Not a different store for every fashion.

React & TypeScript

Front-ends that share a typed contract with the API and stay maintainable as they grow.

Docker & Kubernetes

Containers where they earn their complexity; plain services where they do not.

Hetzner, AWS, Azure & DigitalOcean

European hosting on Hetzner, the public cloud you already use, or your own hardware. Defined as code either way, so moving later stays possible.

Work with Experus

Tell Experus what you are building or what is hurting. The reply comes from the engineer who would do the work, and it is just as likely to say "not a fit" as "yes".
