DEVOPS AS A SERVICE

Infrastructure that runs itself, and engineers who watch it.

Experus builds, automates and watches the infrastructure behind your software, so your cloud stops being a distraction from your business.

Most organisations do not have a cloud problem. They have a person problem: deployments that only one colleague knows how to do, a server nobody dares to patch, and a monitoring dashboard that was set up once and never looked at again. When that person is on holiday, or leaves, the software your business runs on becomes a risk you cannot see.

DevOps as a Service means Experus takes that on. Your environments are rebuilt from code you own, every change reaches production through the same tested pipeline, and the senior engineers who set it up keep watching it under a monthly agreement with a response window you agreed in writing.

It is not a ticket queue at a hosting company. It is one accountable point of contact who knows your platform, your application and your business hours, and who tells you what is happening in plain language before you have to ask.

WHEN THIS FITS

When this is the right fit

  • Deployments happen by hand, at night, by the one person who knows the steps, while everyone holds their breath.
  • Your Spring Boot application works, but it runs on a server nobody has patched in a year or knows how to rebuild.
  • You are launching a SaaS product and need monitoring, backups and automated releases from day one, without hiring an operations engineer.
  • Your in-house developers spend their afternoons fighting Kubernetes, pipelines and certificates instead of building the features your customers are paying for.
  • You have moved to the cloud, the invoice keeps growing, and nobody can explain which part of it is earning its keep.
WHAT YOU GET

What you get

Environments defined as code

Servers, networks, databases, secrets and clusters described in a repository you own, on the cloud provider you use: Hetzner, AWS, Azure, DigitalOcean or your own hardware. A new environment is one pull request.

A CI/CD pipeline you can trust

Every commit is built, tested and scanned for vulnerable dependencies. Docker images are built once and promoted from test to production unchanged. Deployments are zero-downtime, and rollback is one rehearsed command.

Monitoring and alerts you can read

Metrics, logs and traces for your Spring Boot services and PostgreSQL, with alerts tuned to what matters. Alerts reach Experus and you together, and are handled within the response window agreed in your contract.

Backups that have been restored

Automated PostgreSQL backups with a retention policy you signed off, and scheduled restore drills, because an unrestored backup is only a theory. Runtime upgrades, security patches and certificate renewals are tested in non-production first.

A written design and a runbook

Before anything is built, a written design: what runs where, how traffic flows, what is backed up, what is monitored, what the risks are. After go-live it becomes a runbook any engineer can follow.

HOW IT WORKS

How it works

01

Audit

A fixed-scope review of hosting, deployments, backups, monitoring, access and cost. You receive a written report ranked by risk and effort.

02

Design

A written target picture, agreed before any change: environments, pipeline, monitoring, backups and access. The estimate states its assumptions.

03

Build and migrate

Infrastructure code, pipelines and monitoring are built alongside your existing set-up and switched over in stages. Every cut-over is rehearsed and reversible.

04

Operate

A monthly agreement: alerts watched, patches applied, backups verified, cost reviewed. A monthly summary covers what happened and what is next.

ENGAGEMENT

Typical engagement

A fixed-scope set-up or audit of your current environment, then a monthly managed-operations agreement with an agreed response window.

FAQ

Questions you might have

How is this priced?

In two parts. The audit and the initial set-up or migration are fixed-price, scoped in writing before the work starts. Operations are a fixed monthly fee that covers monitoring, patching, backups, an agreed response window and a set amount of improvement work. Cloud hosting is billed to you directly by the provider, in your own account, so you always see the real cost.

Who owns the infrastructure code and the accounts?

You do. The code lives in your repositories from the first commit; intellectual property in the delivered work transfers to you on payment. Cloud accounts are opened in your company name and secrets are stored in a vault you control. Experus works with access you grant and can revoke. If the relationship ends, nothing has to be handed over because nothing ever left your hands.

What happens if the Experus engineer is unavailable?

Everything is written down and automated precisely so that it does not depend on one person being awake: the runbook covers the routine and the emergencies, the pipeline deploys and rolls back without manual steps, and alerts go to a channel you can also see. Every engagement has agreed dates in writing; if those cannot be met you are told immediately, with the choice to reschedule or to stop and pay only for what has been delivered. Work in progress lives in your repositories and your accounts from day one, so nothing is lost on a laptop. If the engineer on your project is unavailable for longer, a trusted specialist from the Experus network can step in, with your agreement.

How long does it take before Experus is operating the platform?

The audit is fixed-scope, with its duration stated in the written brief, and it ends with a written report. Set-up or migration depends on what you run today; a single Spring Boot application with a PostgreSQL database is a different job from a dozen services on a hand-built cluster. You receive an estimate with its assumptions after the audit, and the switch-over happens in stages, so the monthly operations agreement can start on the first environment while the others are still being migrated.
