Software shaped to your business, not the other way round.
Business applications designed around how your organisation actually works, taken from idea to production and kept moving afterwards.
Off-the-shelf tools are fine until your process stops fitting the template. Then the workarounds start: a spreadsheet beside the ERP, an email chain to approve what the system cannot, a manual export every Friday because two tools refuse to talk. Custom software is what you build when the way you work is worth protecting and the tools you have are in the way.
Experus designs and builds that software with you: a written design first, then working increments you can try in your own environment, then a production release with the tests, monitoring and documentation that keep it working. The same senior engineers stay from the first conversation through go-live and beyond, so nothing gets lost in a hand-over between a salesperson, a project manager and whoever ends up writing the code.
When this is the right fit
- Your core process runs on spreadsheets, shared inboxes and one person who knows how it fits together.
- You pay for an off-the-shelf package but spend more time working around it than in it.
- Your ERP, CRM, webshop or accounting systems do not talk to each other, so staff re-key the same data by hand.
- You have a clear idea for an internal tool or customer portal, a fully booked in-house team and a fixed deadline.
- An earlier attempt stalled: an agency demo never reached production, or a freelancer left with the only copy of the knowledge.
What you get
A written design before the build
Domain boundaries, data model, integrations, deployment shape and known risks on paper, with an estimate that states its assumptions. You get to argue with the drawing before it becomes expensive.
A backend that survives growth
Services, APIs and integrations on Java or Kotlin with Spring Boot, in clear modules so a new feature lands in one place. Integrations with your ERP, CRM or payment provider are tested and documented.
A data model built for your real queries
One PostgreSQL database designed around the questions you actually ask of it, with every schema change under version control and rehearsed before it touches production data.
Screens your staff will actually use
React and TypeScript front-ends built from the same typed contract as the backend, so a field added in the API shows up on screen, and a renamed field fails the build rather than your staff.
A release you can trust, and keep trusting
Docker images built and tested on every commit, deployed through CI/CD to Kubernetes or a plain server, with monitoring, backups and a rehearsed rollback in place before the first user logs in.
How it works
Understand
Experus maps the process with the people who run it today. You receive a written scope before any code is written.
Shape
The scope becomes a design: module boundaries, data model, integrations and deployment shape. A small proof of concept settles any uncertain choice.
Build
The first increment replaces one workaround end to end, so a real user tries it early. Each increment ends with a demo in your environment.
Run and evolve
The first release goes live with monitoring, backups and rollback in place. After go-live Experus stays for support, security updates and new features.
The stack behind it
Kotlin & Java

Typical engagement
A scoped first release delivered in short increments with a demo at the end of each, followed by a retained agreement for support and evolution. The natural path is a scoped project that becomes a monthly partnership once the software is in daily use.
Questions you might have
How is a custom software project priced?
The Understand and Shape stages are quoted separately at a fixed price and end in a written design you keep regardless of what happens next. The first release is then scoped and estimated in writing against that design, with the assumptions behind the number spelled out so you can challenge them. The build is billed per day worked, increment by increment against that estimate, and you see spend against estimate at every demo. Nothing is started that you have not agreed to. After go-live, support and evolution run under a monthly retained agreement sized to how much change you expect.
Who owns the code?
You do. The code lives in your repositories from the first commit; intellectual property in the delivered work transfers to you on payment. The infrastructure runs in your cloud accounts, and the documentation is written in plain language for whoever maintains it next, whether that is Experus, your own team or another engineer entirely.
What happens if Experus is unavailable?
The delivery is designed so that it does not depend on one person being reachable: readable code, automated tests, documented infrastructure and a plain-language operations guide sit in your own accounts, so another engineer can pick the system up without a hand-over meeting. Every engagement has agreed dates in writing; if those cannot be met you are told immediately, with the choice to reschedule or to stop and pay only for what has been delivered. Work in progress lives in your repositories and your accounts from day one, so nothing is lost on a laptop. If the engineer on your project is unavailable for longer, a trusted specialist from the Experus network can step in, with your agreement.
How long does it take?
It depends on scope, and you will receive an honest estimate rather than a comforting one. Experus works in short increments so that a usable first version reaches your staff early, and you decide after each demo whether to continue, change direction or stop.
Describe the process that is getting in the way
Rough is fine. Tell Experus what your staff are working around today and you will get a considered reply from the engineer who would actually build it, including a straight answer if custom software is not the right fix.
